Pakistani Actor Javed Sheikh Was Irked By Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Attitude’ During Jannat Shoot; ‘Big Stars Respect Me’
Over the years, Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh has made a name for himself in Bollywood after appearing in several movies. From Dus, Apne, Om Shanti Om, Namaste London, and many others, he has worked in many films alongside the A-lister actors of the Hindi film industry. He recently opened up about his experience and also recalled his not-so-good experience of working with actor Emraan Hashmi. He mentioned that they had worked together in Jannat (2008), where he essayed the role of Don Abu Ibrahim, however they didn’t interact at all because of the actor’s rude behaviour.
During an interaction, in a video shared by Aaj Entertainment’s YouTube channel, the 70-year-old veteran actor shared that when they had initially met, he had tried to shake hands with Emraan. However, the latter had dismissively shook hands with him and coldly turned his face away. Sheikh went on to add that this irked him as big stars of Bollywood, who he had previously worked with, respected him, but a young guy showed him ‘attitude.’

Quoted by the Free Press Journal, he added, “Big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan respect me so much, call me Javed Ji, and this young guy has this attitude. What does he think of himself?” He went on to mention that even during the rehearsal, he “didn’t bother to even look at him.” For the days that followed, during the shooting of the film, “I did not talk to him at all.”
Javed explained that he hadn’t gotten a chance to meet Emraan before the shoot of Jannat started. He explained, “Mahesh Bhatt was the producer and got a new director on board, Kunal (Deshmukh), to direct the project. He explained the entire plot and everything to me when I signed the project, but I had not had an opportunity to meet Emraan Hashmi until then.”

It is to be noted that Emraan Hashmi is yet to react to Javed Sheikh’s shocking claims.
For those who don’t know, Jannat was directed by Kunal Deshmukh and Sonal Chauhan was the film’s female lead. The makers had gone on to release a sequel, Jannat 2 (2012), featuring Emraan, Randeep Hooda, and Esha Gupta.
