After Nadaaniyan, Khushi Kapoor Wants To Star In Thriller-Horror With Ibrahim Ali Khan: ‘Something A Bit Darker…’
Earlier this month, Bollywood fans saw the launch of a fresh career as Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actor Saif Ali Khan, debuted in Nadaaniyaan. He starred alongside Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of Sridevi, who already had two films to her credit by the time their teen rom-com hit OTT platforms. While Ibrahim is just starting out, Khushi has had the opportunity to delve into varied roles and stories. In her debut, The Archies (2023), she played Betty Cooper, embodying a sweet, sensitive, and compassionate character. In her first theatrical release, Loveyapa, Khushi brought to life the lively, effervescent Baani. What lies ahead for her?
Although the scripts and characters Khushi Kapoor has taken on vary widely, they all fit within a light and breezy genre. Now, she is eager to explore a darker, more intense theme. Talking to Grazia India, the star kid shared, “I’ve always been curious to see what the process of a thriller-horror movie would look like; maybe not completely horror but something a bit darker than the movies I’ve done so far. It would be interesting to explore a slightly darker film. I like doing dramatic and emotional scenes, so I think it would be interesting to do a film that was heavier on those kinds of notes.”
Khushi could certainly draw inspiration from her sister Janhvi Kapoor, who has already ventured into horror and thriller territories. In 2020, Janhvi portrayed a nurse in Zoya Akhtar’s segment of the horror anthology Ghost Stories. The following year, she blended humor with chills in Roohi (2021), playing the titular role in Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock horror-comedy universe, delighting fans while sending shivers down their spines.
Fans would undoubtedly love to see Khushi Kapoor take on a horror or thriller role after watching her portray the wealthy and entitled Pia Jaisingh, who hires Ibrahim as her boyfriend in Nadaaniyaan.
