Vishal Dadlani Quits Indian Idol After 6 Seasons Because Of The City, ‘Can’t Stay Stuck…’
Music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani enjoys a huge fanbase in the country. For the last six years, he had been judging the singing reality show Indian Idol, which currently wrapped its 15th season. A day after Indian Idol 15’s winner was declared during the grand finale episode, he took to his official social media handle to pen an emotional note announcing his departure from the show. Taking to his Instagram handle, he shared a video of himself with the co-judges Shreya Ghoshal and Badshah.
While the video’s original audio is muted, the trio continue to converse. Christian 21’s Time played in the background. Penning the announcement of his departure on the video itself, he expressed how “six straight seasons later” he had shot for the last episode of the reality show where he would be seen as a judge. He hoped that the show would miss him just as much as he would miss it. Without forgetting, he added names of the co-judges, the entire production team, the singers and the musicians who have been there during the journey. “It really has been home!! That stage is pure love!,” he concluded.

Expressing similar sentiments he also captioned the video, “Alvida, yaaro. 6 seasons mein jitna mazaa kiya, uss se bhi zyada yaad aayegi. Haqq se zyada pyaar milaa hai, iss show ki vajah se. Eternally grateful to everyone involved. I hope the show will miss me as much as I’ll miss it. I’m literally only leaving because I want my time back. Can’t stay stuck in Mumbai for 6 months each year!”
The 51-year-old musician concluded the caption of his post by stating, “Time to get back to making music, playing concerts and never putting on make-up! It’s #VishalAndSheykhar season!! Jai ho!”

It’s safe to say that the post left the fans and other celebrities emotional, who had grown fond of Dadlani. They took to the comment section to shower him with love and adoration as he embarks on a new journey away from the lime light of Indian cinema. Reacting to his post, Badshah said, “Jaane nahi, denge tumhe.” Another fan wrote, “Sir Indian Idol is incomplete without you.”
For those who don’t know, Vishal Dadlani has been a judge on Indian Idol since season 10, which aired in 2018. The 15th season recently wrapped up with Manasi Ghosh being declared as the winner.
