Twinkle Khanna Says She Argued With Akshay Kumar Over Film On Operation Sindoor: ‘Fighting With Vicky Kaushal…’
Twinkle Khanna is renowned for her sharp wit and incisive commentary on current affairs, yet even she isn’t immune to the perplexity stirred by online rumours. In her latest column for the Times of India, the author and former actor addressed recent claims involving her husband, Akshay Kumar, and the social media frenzy surrounding Operation Sindoor.
Just days ago, producer Uttam Maheshwari announced a film titled Operation Sindoor, only to swiftly issue an apology following significant backlash. The controversy didn’t subside there – the internet soon buzzed with assertions that Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal were embroiled in a dispute over the rights to produce a film on the same topic.

Twinkle, like many others, encountered these rumours and decided to confront her husband directly. The result was a comical exchange, which she recounted in her column. “I can test paneer with an iodine solution – but what is the litmus test for the truth? I come across a flurry of tweets and I call the man of the house and start arguing. ‘I just read that you are fighting with Vicky Kaushal over who gets to make a movie on Operation Sindoor.’ He sighs and says, ‘It’s fake news and my leg is on fire, so I will call you later.’ He really should devise better excuses if he just wants to hang up.”
Twinkle soon discovered that Akshay wasn’t exaggerating about his situation. When he returned home, she learned he had sustained a minor injury while filming. “Apparently, his leg was truly on fire for a scene. Nowadays, it is so difficult to figure out what is true that I look at every piece of information suspiciously,” she further wrote.

The film Operation Sindoor was unveiled by Nicky Vicky Bhagnani Films and The Content Engineer during a period of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. Its poster depicted a female soldier gripping a rifle in one hand while applying sindoor to her forehead, framed against a striking backdrop of tanks, explosions, and fighter jets.
