Alia Bhatt Shares Her Future Hollywood Plans After Heart Of Stone: ‘Now, It’s Harder To Just Pack Up And Leave’

Alia Bhatt has already established herself as one of Bollywood’s top stars, and with her Hollywood debut in Heart of Stone alongside Gal Gadot, she’s also dipped her toes into the international film scene. However, when it comes to taking on more global projects, Alia admits it’s not as straightforward as it may seem.

In a candid chat with Kareena Kapoor Khan during the fifth season of What Women Want, Alia opened up about her Hollywood experience and what it takes to commit to projects overseas. Kareena, clearly intrigued by Alia’s foray into international cinema, asked if she had plans to do more Hollywood films.

Alia, with her usual humility, explained that such decisions aren’t just about seeking out big opportunities. “For me, it’s about the right timing,” Alia shared. “When Heart of Stone came along, it happened to fit into my schedule, and I thought it would be an exciting new challenge—just like RRR was. But I’m not someone who feels like I must do a Hollywood film. It’s more about finding the right project that excites me and pushes me outside my comfort zone.”

She also touched on how her priorities have changed since becoming a mother to her daughter, Raha. “Now, it’s not as easy to commit to something that requires me to be away for months at a time,” she confessed. “It’s not just about picking up and going for three or four months. I have to factor in a lot more, especially with my little one at home.”

Kareena, ever playful, teased that Ranbir Kapoor would be more than happy to stay home with their daughter Raha while Alia globe-trots for work. “Ranbir’s probably more obsessed with Raha than you are,” Kareena joked, to which Alia laughed but made it clear that decisions regarding work are more than just about logistics.

“It’s not just about convenience,” Alia said. “The story, the timing, and my desire to do it all have to align. I have to feel that it’s the right move for me, both personally and professionally.”
