Did Ekta Kapoor Takes A Dig At Anurag Kashyap? Talks About Content Struggle; ‘No Fun Blaming People…’

Netflix’s new series Adolescence has taken the internet by storm, however, the show has also erupted in a new conversation among Indian filmmakers. Anurag Kashyap also made headlines after he called out Netflix India for its ‘hypocrisy’ and added that shows like Adolescence would never get made here. Now, Ekta Kapoor has also opened up about the same and questioned why Indian content struggles to match international standards, wondering if it is “ego, anger, or just misplaced accusations.”

Ekta Kapoor took to her Instagram stories to weigh in on the conversation and pointed out how films like Superboys of Malegaon and Buckingham Murders haven’t done well at the box office despite critical acclaim. She added, “When Superboys of Malegoan n my dear frn @hansalmehta the Buckingham Murders don’t work in theatres can we blame the real culprits the ‘audiences’ n since it’s no fun blaming ppl in such abstract terms (can’t bring them down on social media nA so no fun).”

She said, “let’s just say that major part of India is in it’s evolutionary stage as far as content is concerned! U can say it’s in it’s adolescence.” Ekta also encouraged Indian filmmakers to invest their own money into projects and wrote further, “Creators, I urge you to fight the system, these money, hungry, corporate studios and apps only think of money (me included) and Numbers!!!!!!!”
