Kangana Ranaut Receives Silk Saree, Letter As Gift From Fan For Emergency; Calls It ‘Better Than Useless Trophies’

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut recently revealed a heartfelt gift she received from a fan after the release of her latest film, Emergency. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Kangana shared that she was sent a Kanjeevaram silk saree by one of her fans, who praised her performance in the movie. She described the gesture as “so much better than getting useless trophies.”

The saree was sent by LN Nithyanantham, the director of the Jai Shri Ram Council, who also wrote a letter expressing his admiration for Kangana’s work in Emergency. He wrote, “I recently had the opportunity to watch your film, Emergency, and I must say I was truly impressed…Even though certain aspects may have been censored or downplayed, what was shown was more than enough to convey the gravity of that dark period in history.”

He went on to say, “I sincerely believe no one else could have done justice to this role the way you did. As a humble token of my appreciation, please accept this Kanjeevaram silk saree as a symbol of my gratitude and respect.”

Kangana shared the letter with her followers on Instagram stories, captioning it, “This is so wonderful I got a stunning weave sari for making #emergency…so much better than getting useless trophies.”

In Emergency, which hit theaters on January 17 after a long delay, Kangana portrays former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film explores the 21-month Emergency period declared by Gandhi from 1975 to 1977 and its consequences. The cast also includes Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik.
