Nayanthara Reveals She Chose Jawan As Her Bollywood Debut Because It ‘Would Create A Huge Impact’

Nayanthara, the renowned South Indian actress, recently made her highly anticipated Bollywood debut with the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan. In a candid interview, Nayanthara shared insights into her decision to step into the Hindi film industry and the experience of working alongside the iconic Bollywood actor.

Nayanthara portrayed the role of a cop and Shah Rukh Khan’s love interest, adding depth and intrigue to the action-packed narrative. Directed by Atlee, the film boasted a stellar ensemble cast, including Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Riddhi Dogra, Deepika Padukone, and Sunil Grover. The collaboration proved to be a massive success at the box office, breaking records and earning critical acclaim. With a staggering collection of Rs 1160 crore.

In an interview with Hello Magazine, the actress said, “I was looking for a film like Jawan which is a commercial venture with a huge star. At the same time, I was also keen on a meaty role where I get to kick some ass.”

She also said that the main reason why she chose the film was Shah Rukh Khan, she said, “Who is not his fan? We have all grown up watching his films and we all love them. Apart from being the huge star that he is, I really admire the fact that he respects women a lot. I was pretty sure that Jawan would create a huge impact. After working so many years in the industry you know when a film is going to work and vice versa.”
