SS Rajamouli Questions Civic Sense Of Visitors After Finding Litter During Odisha Trek: ‘Help Protect These Places’
Tollywood filmmaker SS Rajamouli became a household name after his Prabhas and Rana Daggubati starrer Baahubali franchise. One of the most celebrated filmmakers of the Indian entertainment industry, he recently went on a solo trekking trip to Deomali, Odisha’s highest peak. Impressed by the stunning view, he took to his social media handle to share his experience of the trip and expressed his shock over the litter strewn there.

Taking to his official X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, the 51-year-old director shared a video of the gorgeous view from the peak. He went on to zoom in towards the ground where plastic bottles and other garbage was strewn among the rocks. The video ends with a photo of him posing for the camera. Through his tweet, the filmmaker questioned the civic sense of visitors and urged them to protect such beautiful places.

Rajamouli wrote, “Had an amazing solo trek to Deomali, Odisha’s highest and most stunning peak. The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. However, it was disheartening to see the trail marred by litter. Such pristine wonders deserve better. A little civic sense can make a huge difference… Every visitor should carry back their waste to help protect these places.”

Reacting to the RRR filmmaker’s tweet, Suparno Satpathy, Odisha’s socio-political leader, expressed his regret over Rajamouli’s “unpleasant experience at the stunning Deomali.” He further appealed, “My appeal to our ‘positions of power’ – ‘Visitors need to be sensitised extensively and violators need be penalised heavily’- SS.” As a post note, he added that this be followed for all the “other stunning spots in Odisha.”

On the work front, SS Rajamouli is currently working on Priyanka Chopra and Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film, tentatively titled SSMB29. Written by Vijayendra Prasad, other details about the film are yet to be released. It was earlier reported that John Abraham will also be a part of the film.
